Divorce Support Group
Men Only
This is a support group for men who are considering divorce or currently in the process of divorcing. Whether or not you wanted your divorce, the transition between being married and being single can be a very lonely period. You have to re-learn how to function as an individual, and redefine your relationships with friends and family.
A divorce support group provides a ready made network of other men who understand what you're going through and want to help. You will receive encouragement and advice from those with similar experiences, get tips, ideas, knowledge, and inspiration that will help you to move forward. We will be having common topics and since each person has different needs, prior to each meeting, I will ask people to send me a list of topics to cover. This is place for the group to talk and find support from others who are in the same situation.
With my therapeutic background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Psychoeducation, I will facilitate each meeting, allowing for productive sharing and feedback. This group is about problem-solving, not psycho-babble.
Who Should Attend? The group is open to all men at any stage of divorce.
When Can I Join the Group? The group runs for four consecutive weeks and is a closed group, which means that new members will not be allowed to join once the group begins. If you would like to be put on the waiting list for the next group, let us know.
Childcare available upon request. She is a college student majoring in child development and charges $12 per hour.
